DDB. JWT. Deutch. Y&R. Organic???? Yes, Organic. Seems as though the big boys are making a little room for digital agencies to play in the sandbox. And we couldn’t be giddier.
As part of over twenty top agencies, Organic was asked to join Advertising Futures, a volunteer program sponsored by Ad Week and Virtual Enterprises International. At the kick off on Wednesday, September 14, each agency was paired with a team of go-getter high school students eager to get their feet wet in advertising. The brief? Create a campaign promoting the Michelle Obama initiative “Let’s Move.” The campaign will be by teenagers for teenagers, tackling the issues of childhood obesity head on.
A small team of New York Organics led by Sal Barone and Jason Paul will help guide these high schoolers over the next two weeks to concept and create a print ad for the Advertising Futures Competition 2011. Their final presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 5. All alone, our five young creatives will present and defend their work.
The team in New York is inspired by the passion and creativity of these young adults. While it’s not all about winning, we sure hope they do.
