Our New York office is home to three passionate Francophiles – Yvette Durant, Elise Moyse and Gretta Krechmaras – and we are the fortunate beneficiaries of this. “Les Trois Femmes” travel to Paris a couple of times a year to soak in the beauty, culture and magic of this wondrous region.
Inspired by their travels, the trio decided to host their third Parisian-style Beer Bash, which put our standard late-Friday afternoon kitchen gatherings to shame. To create the right ambiance, Gretta brought in French music, votive candles and her natural sense of beauty to help transform our humble kitchen into a café.
Yvette delivered a delicious selection of French wines from Union Square Wines, including a delectable Cotes de Rhone, as well as cornichons, olives, Dijon mustards, white tablecloths and other “required” French extras. Elise called upon her friend Pierre, a noted French caterer, to deliver a bounty of French cheese, charquterie platters, foie gras, salmon canapés and mini quiches. French posters by Lautrec and of Paris landmarks adorned the walls and the lights were dimmed to create a true bistro atmosphere.
(A special nod to Bill McDermott, who sliced the 10 or more baguettes to save Les Trois Femmes’ delicate hands and was crucial in helping set up…he’s one of the few people who knows how to use our corkscrew.)
Needless to say, everyone in our New York office adores this Café Organique experience. It’s a always a wonderful way to celebrate a productive week and kick-off the weekend.
