Camp O. Wednesday, 5:00 PM.

LAS VEGAS
– Last night and this morning, our campers were initiated with immersive
storytelling program from the Moth. Every one of us has great stories to tell.
The art is taking the typical anecdote and turning it into something that is
interesting, engaging, and meaningful. Each team had an opportunity to do just
that, finding themes where there were previously just topics, pulling out the
important examples and tossing away some favorite parts of their stories to get
to that critical insight. All received great feedback and everyone learned
something that useful in both work and play.

Some of our counselors offered up stories
related to their own experience as campers. One person in particular shared how
Camp had truly been a life changing experience. It will be interesting to see
what our campers at #17 learn and how they grow as a result of this experience.

Jon Gray, the Palms VP of Brand and
Revenue Development, was a special guest at Camp today, offering some very
candid stories and insights into the world of Vegas hotels. For those of you
that don’t spend much time in Vegas, the Palms is a very youth oriented,
celebrity oriented hotel.  I admit, it makes me feel old and not nearly
hip enough or scantily dressed enough.  Jon did have some pretty good
celebrity stories of his own, one involving a donkey…and… well, ’nuff said.

After receiving instructions, tips and
advice, the campers were set free to explore Vegas and the world of sin. Right
now, they are fresh, awake, have had no caffeinated beverages, and really are
still working out what they should actually be doing. We’ll be checking back in
with them throughout the night to see how they are progressing in their quest
for insight and a great story.
