Simpsonize Me is a newly launched “Web 2.0” tie-in with The Simpsons Movie release and - surprise! - the front end of a Burger King summer promotion. If it works the way it looks it does, I think it’s brilliant – there’s been a huge surge in traffic today the site is running pretty slowly right now – the nice tie in with BK’s “Have It Your Way” tagline, for example.

I went to this site. I tried using my photos. I tried using other people's photos. I tried using photos of people's pets. The site wouldn't draw anything as a simpson's character.
No matter what photo I used, it would not work.
It's a great idea, too bad their software isn't 100%. At least they'll all have jobs at Microsoft ;o)

It seems like uploading an image of any reasonable resolution takes hours. Either that, or you get an error message. In fact, I haven't been able to even make one yet. Good luck.

I ran into the problem of the program "loading" for an hour when I was at a friend's house and we tried to Simpsonize him. When I got home I decided to try it myself, but I haven't even been able to access the main page probably due to too much traffic. ( It was advertised about 50 times during the Simpsons marathon last night.) However, if you go to the Simpsons movie official website, you can create a Simpsons avatar from scratch. I am very happy with the avatar I was able to create with the official movie website. You should try it whether or not "Simpsonize me" fails you, too.

I don't know what to say about this site. It sounds great, and as I see from other comments it must work for a select few but I notice a couple people are having the same problem I have, and that's that my picture will NOT download and it comes up with the most ridiculous "error" message I have ever seen. I know Burger King is trying to be cute and sound Simpsony, but have a error message saying that "the doo-dad can't find the thingy." is the most unprofessional way to handle an error.

Okay people, Im having the same problem!! I love the simpsons, im a huge fan of the show. But all i kept seeing last night was that dumb donut!! Whats up with that, I seen the error doo hickey to.. lol, very clever. But this website is just not working properly. Please have it fixed!! I wanna be Simpsonized!!

I think it would be a good site, if it actually worked.
Most of the time it wont even allow me on the site.
Or when it does, i cant sign in, because you cant see what your writing.
And about the picture's.. i cant download anything.
It's said Loading for about 30 min's now.
They need to fix the kink's.
Everyone i have talked to has said, nothing on the site work's.

It worked for me. It took a few tries, but eventually it accepted my photo (I had to photoshop it so that it was brighter and the proper size that it asks for). It's really cool!

its easier to make an avatar, ive tried this again and again i would say go back to it in a year lol, too much traffic and to many problems, not bad if you like to see a turning dohnut for hours, should of been better thought out, i found it through myspace as Tom (the owner had had his done) BUT his does not look like it was done on this lol, more like he's tied into the promotion and got it done by a prof cartoonist, ah well.

Well, from an IT perspective and running IP trace routes, I'm assuming they didnt antisipate the traffic since they didn't correctly route their traffic load.
They are only running one server for this with an average of 50k hits per hour.
I'd wait till 3AM to try this..

I love the idea, but the thing has major problems. The traffic on the site is way to high right now, it always throws a error message when i try to upload an image, i got simpsonized once and i came out a drawing of a girl. It looked completely different than me. I mean totally different.
Cant wait for people to get off so i can try it without so much traffic.

i got my picture to work in a couple trys but now im at the simpsonizing page and the numbers keep counting down and when it gets to 3 it goes to 12 everytime..wat the hell am i supposed to do.

After countless attempts of trying to get it to accept my picture it finally did. then none of the options would download. I gave up. Clearly they underestimated the popularity of this site and now it sucks for everyone.

Its a pain, but a combination of 2 things worked for me. I registered, and I photoshopped the picture. Take a frontal pic, and crop it just below the armpits. Then cut out the background so all you see is the head and shoulders. Resize the image to 640wx480h. I've done it with 3 pics, and they've all worked. Don't even bother with trying to email or save the pics. Screenshots work well tho. The emailed pics look like Picasso did them.

I got this to work, after about 6 hours!!! In my experience, the swirling donut should only take about 3 or 4 minutes, but I have a new computer. If the donut takes a long time (like an hour), then it will not load. I used an extreme closeup of my face so that my chin and top of my head touched the edges of the pic. you just have to be persistant! The site obviously has some problems. In my case I e-mailed the picture to two of my e-mail accounts. That worked! I also took a screenshot and saved it just in case the e-mails didn't work. The simpsonized picture looks great!

On Monday, I made a Simpson, that wouldn't save to file or to the profile I created just to try to save it. And it took hours to make it, because just changing the nose once took 14 minutes of loading time. Now the site always says come back later and the link, that I emailed myself for my simpson, is dead. Plus there is no tech support for this program that obviously doesn't work like it's supposed to. I really wanted a jpeg of my simpson, and now I can't get it back or even make a new one. This sucks.

I had success sporadically today (12AM PST, 10AM PST, 3PM PST). Loading the photos seem to be working better this afternoon, but for the past hour (6PM PST) I have been getting simpsonized women when I am trying to do a man. I did my whole family of 4 and managed to save 3 of the 4. I, too, was unable to save or e-mail the simpsonized character, so I did screenshots of them and then cropped and saved as a .jpg.

I Simpsonized myself at 10 this morning! It was working great! I made 5! Then I tried to do my friends because they were having problems....that's when I had all the problems mentioned above! I'll keep trying because now I'm addicted! They really need to hurry up & fix the website!...If you are having trouble seeing the whole screen-click on zoom on the bottom right hand side of the screen.Click it to 150%.Then you will see the scrollbars.

Wow, if the Simpsons marketers wanted to frustrate their fans, they managed to do it with gusto! Promise a neat “makeover”—but provide a shoddy site to do so. I’ve tried this about 10 different times – it simply DOES NOT WORK. I get hung up at “2-D Flatters you.” It shows my original… and a big ‘ole blank space where my 2-d cartoon should be. Bah! I’m so frustrated! And there is NO guidance to let you know why things don’t work!
