This Week's Sign That the Apocalypse is Upon Us

GeicoIt's true.  Two pre-historic Geico pitchmen will have their own TV series this fall.  At this week's upfronts, ABC revealed that it will introduce "The Cavemen" for the 2007-08 season.

You know, that's WAAAY more body hair than I - and I'm betting most of the U.S. - care to see on a regular basis in prime time...

Shawn:

I think the line between entertainment and advertising has been blurry for a long long time. Usually things flow in the other direction, and you end up with Alf peddling long distance services or Mr. T pitching for Comcast.

When does the gecko get *his* show?

Vito:

I think that is the rub..Advertising that is entertaining gets noticed and can take on a life of its own....
Brands that understand this continue to garner attention.
