Building community around music is nothing new. But this site allows you to compare your music list with others and get matched up to people with similar musical tastes. The design and user experience are nice too.
There is an excellent tour function that really helps you get oriented and you can choose to interact with the music either by listening to it, watching music videos, or reading user reviews. Even without joining you can take a look at what others are recommending.

The concept is very similar to that of last.fm which integrates with iTunes (and others like foobar and WMP) and reports what you've been playing on your own last.fm page as well as recommend other that play the same type of music.
The interesting part is that the recommendations are based on the actual music listened to rather than your "static" music library (which contains music you may or may not like).
The concept is great but the algorithm should be adaptive and contain a blend of three key "variables": your library, the music listened to, and finally, time (to keep track of your changing taste).
