Uniqlo

Uniqlo1Uniqlo2Uniqlo is a Japanese clothing retailer that just opened a flagship store in Soho.

Its site is a fantastic experience. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It seamlessly turns their marketing campaign into an artistic statement wrapped in a navigation pathway and then turns the whole thing inside out. Very cool.

While there’s no ecommerce component, it almost doesn’t matter. It makes me really want to go into the store and buy.

And while the clothes themselves are fairly simple and inexpensive, the rich brand experience the site provides makes me place higher value on the products they sell. How many other sites can claim this? Not many I suppose.

That is a very cool site.

It's also, I think, a lot like a visit to a Uniqlo store.

They have masses of stock. Hundreds of cuts and styles.

The store overwhelms you then reveals its treasures as you explore.

Similarly the site collages overwhelms then reveals individual pieces.
