IMHO it underlines two distinct and very strong trends in what I call &quot;bottom up brand management&quot;: &quot;de-branding&quot; (where the consumer ostensibly delete the original brand) and &quot;me-branding&quot; (where the consumer overimpose &quot;his&quot; brand to the original one).
of course the first trend brings a negative bias towards the original brand whil the second has an extremely positive one.
