I spotted this ad last night and it blew me away.
It’s for the new VW
Rabbit and allows the user to complete this sentence ala Mad Libs: “____ like a
Rabbit.”
Type in “run” and the car zooms around. Type in “jump” and it
jumps off a ramp. What else do rabbits do? Type in “multiply” and see what
happens.
This takes the interactive experience of Subservient Chicken,
Ms. Dewey, and our own Ask Sam and condenses it into a standard 30K banner (it
does utilize user-initiated subsequent downloads for the additional movies). The
more users interact with a brand, the more likely they are to purchase. How long
did I play with this? 10-15 minutes. How long with you play with it?
This
is nothing short of brilliant.
You can use the image above to play with it. Click on the line before typing.

it’s blowing me too: for the first time I see 30k on the web doing for a brand/product more than 30secs on the TV do.
Subservient Hatchback
What’s blowing me away is that with this, interactive ads have moved from web page headers and sidebars to being embedded into blog posts.
Using “breed” or “screw” gives you the same result as “multiply”. But if you enter “fuck”, you get scolded. Why?
This was awesome. Here were the words that seemed to have some interesting reactions: wash, skip, jump, reverse and park. Awesome Ad!
