Well, don't say we didn't warn you. After a three-month experiment, Walmart has shut down The Hub, a social networking site aimed at teens.
The Hub was under fire from the beginning for its ham-fisted take on MySpace: screening every piece of content, allowing parents editorial control, forbidding kids to email one another within the site. In July I called it the George Costanza approach: "Think of everything great about social networks, then do the opposite". Read more in AdAge.
