Flickr was temporarily offline yesterday, but the company made good use of their unscheduled downtime.
Instead of the usual "come back soon" message they held an open colouring competition, with the opportunity to get a free pro account.

I ended up participating in the Flickr contest with a simple idea, eventually making a photo set for the contest. One of mine ended up on Flickrblog and although I didn't win, I got a free month of Flickr pro. Others got three months of pro.
Flickr has an amazing way of dealing with maintenance and downtime that makes it a lot less boring. :)
