Jack Black's new film, Nacho Libre, is just beginning its promotional cycle for a June launch. The story follows the travails of a Napoleon Dynamite-inspired Mexican friar (Black) who secretly becomes a professional wrestler to raise money for his orphanage. I can't wait.
The promotional microsite is notable because it features a series of behind-the-scenes clips that would normally be held back until the release of the DVD, six months or more from today. They're really funny pieces that mock the conventions of breathless making-of footage, and they show how generating Internet content is now a consideration from the first day of shooting. There's also a podcast and an exclusive trailer. Viva la Lucha Libre!
